Abstract

The article has as main issue the discussion about the curricular structure of seven Law Courses contemplated with the "Seal OAB recommended - 2015" in Santa Catarina state, Brazil. These courses are located in the following Higher Education Institutions (HEIs): Univeridade Regional de Blumenau (FURB), Complexo de Ensino Superior de Santa Catarina (CESUSC), Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina (UFSC), Universidade da região de Joinville (UNIVILLE), Centro Universitário Barriga Verde (UNIBAVE), Universidade do Sul de Santa Catarina (UNISUL) and Universidade do Oeste de Santa Catarina (UNOESC). The goal is to understand how are organizaed the curricular structures of the Law Courses in the HEIs that have received the said Seal. Methodological procedures include bibliographic, descriptive, exploratory and documentary research. The contents of the curriculum guidelines of each HEI were analyzed during the five years of the law courses. It was found that the curricular structures analyzed did not present significant differences between the seven courses. On the other hand, it was observed that the award was justified by the choice of the contents of each courses/disciplines and by the profile of the professional that each HEI intents to prepare to the market, as well as by the concern with general contents that include social, economic, historical and political subjects
